1. About Fees

Q1. How much are the fees?

Delivery fee is 3,000 JPY.
Free delivery for orders over 9,000 JPY.

Q2. How much is the extension fee? How will I be charged afterwards?

If the usage time is exceeded, an extension fee of 3,000 yen will be charged for every 3 hours.
If the usage time set for each course is exceeded, the extension fee will be settled upon return and charged to the registered credit card.
(An extension fee will be charged automatically until the item is returned.)

Q3. When will I be billed?

Billing will begin from the time the reservation starts.
Q4. What credit cards do you accept?
🅰️
VISA, MASTER, AMEX, Diners, DISCOVER, JCB, and Union Pay credit cards are accepted.
Q5. Can I change my credit card information?

🅰️You can re-register another credit card information only if the payment fails due to an error in the credit card information.

Q6. Can I pay in cash?

🅰️ We do not accept cash.

Q7. Is there a deposit required?

🅰️There is no deposit, but we will charge you the repair cost if the repair cost is caused by your willful act.
In the event of theft or loss of the vehicle, the customer may be charged the cost of the vehicle (150,000 yen).

2.How to Use

Q1. How can I borrow?

🅰️You can rent a bicycle by following the steps below:

1) Go to the reservation page from the TOP page of Tokyo Rental Bicycle.

2) From the reservation page, enter the date you would like to use the bike (can be reserved on the day from 3 months in advance), time (9~17:00), course (6, 12, or 24 hours), number of bikes (1~10), number of helmets (1~10), name, email address, phone number, and where you would like the bike delivered (hotel where you are staying, condo, building name or convenience store).

3) Complete your reservation by entering your billing address on the payment page.

4) On the day of the event, Customer Support info@tokyo-rental-bicycle.com will send a photo of the reserved bicycle, location details and the dial lock PIN to your registered e-mail address.

5)Once you have confirmed your bicycle, you can start booking.

Q2. How do I close and open the lock while renting a bicycle?

🅰️Bicycle keys are dial locks. You can unlock your bicycle by turning the dial to the PIN number. (The PIN will be sent to you by Customer Support info@tokyo-rental-bicycle.com on the same day.)
Please note that it is your responsibility to take care of your bicycle while it is temporarily parked. (Theft, towing, etc. are your responsibility. You may be charged separately for theft, towing, etc.)

Q3. How do I return it?

1) Stop at the place where you first rented the car and dial lock it before the return time.

2) Please send a photo of your bicycle and its location to Customer Support info@tokyo-rental-bicycle.com so that we can determine where it is parked.

If there is an extension fee, it will be charged at this time.

Q4. I have to change the return location on the same day.

🅰️Please inform Customer Support info@tokyo-rental-bicycle.com of your new return address at least 2 hours prior to your return time, and we can change it free of charge within the 23 wards.
Please note that last minute changes or changing the return location without prior notice will result in a charge of 4,500 yen per vehicle.

Q5. How can I return a bicycle outside the 23 wards of Tokyo?

🅰️Transportation fee for return outside of the rental location is 15,000 yen per unit outside of 23 wards.

3.About Bicycle Rental

Q1. What are the specifications and sizes of the bicycles?

🅰️All rental bicycles are cross bikes. The models are Bianchi C SPORTS2 and Fuji KLUMSY, but the bike selection varies from area to area.
The size is suitable for 160-180cm.

Q2. Is a child seat provided?

🅰️ Bicycles with child seats are not available.

Q3. Can children ride?

🅰️Adult bicycles only.

Q4. Is it possible to use the program with only those under 16 years of age?

🅰️Children under the age of 16 alone are not allowed to use the service. A parent or guardian must consent to the use of this service.

Q5. My saddle is too high, can I adjust it?

A5. Adjust by operating the lever attached to the base of the saddle.

Q6. Does the bicycle have a basket?

🅰️No basket is provided, but a frame bag and drink holder are included.

Q7. Is there anything I need to use the bicycle?

🅰️Since this is a cross bike, a bag of the type that can be carried on your back is useful. Later, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is now making it effort-mandatory to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle, so it is better to have a helmet for safe bicycle riding.
A simple raincoat for rainy weather is always kept on the bicycle.

4.Precautions while Riding a Bicycle

Q1. Is it mandatory by Japanese law to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle?

🅰️As of April 1, 2023, wearing a helmet has become “effort-mandatory” in Tokyo. Please ride safely and observe Japanese traffic rules and manners while riding.

Q2.Will my bicycle be stolen in Japan?

🅰️ Please be sure to lock your bicycle when parking it, even if only for a short time. If you do not lock your bicycle, it will be stolen.
(If your bicycle is stolen, you may be charged the price of the bicycle.)

Q3. If it is raining, is it safe to drive?

🅰️ If it is raining, please wear the raincoat inside the frame back. Please do not drive with an umbrella as it is dangerous.

Q4. Is there a mobile phone holder for the bicycle?

🅰️ Yes, the bicycle phone holder is attached to the handlebar. Size is limited to mobile phones from 4.5 inches to 7 inches. You can enjoy cycling while checking the map app.

Q5. I received a notification on my phone saying "The owner of this AirTag can now see your current location.

🅰️Our bicycles are equipped with Apple’s Air Tag in case they are lost or stolen. We will not be able to peek at your location while you are renting.

5.Troubleshooting

Q1. I am at the delivery address at the time of my appointment, but there is no bicycle.

🅰️Please send us an email to find the bike again with a photo of the delivery address and location details.

Q2.I am concerned that the bicycles are being returned properly.

🅰️ If you have sent the location of the return location and a photo with the bicycle in it by e-mail, the return is complete.

Q3. The bicycle I am using has been stolen.

🅰️Please contact Customer Support info@tokyo-rental-bicycle.com first. We will share the location of your Air Tags.

Q4. Bicycle was removed during use.

🅰️Please contact Customer Support info@tokyo-rental-bicycle.com first. We will share the location of your Air Tags.

Q5. I had an accident while using the service.

A5. Please call 110 or 119 first for proper handling of the situation. After that, please contact Customer Support info@tokyo-rental-bicycle.com.

Q6. I cannot find the return location.

🅰️Please check with Google Maps, etc.

Q7.My bicycle has a flat tire.

🅰️First, please use Google Maps to find a bicycle shop near you. A flat tire can be repaired for 2,000 to 3,000 yen.

Q8.The bike I tried to rent is not inflated.

🅰️We apologize for the inconvenience. We always inspect our bicycles before renting them out, but in the unlikely event that you find one that is not inflated, please go to your local bicycle shop or police station to borrow an inflator.

Q9.I damaged my bicycle while using the service.

🅰️If you cannot ride it, please park the bicycle at the accommodation or at a nearby bicycle parking lot.
